Woodland zen teahouse

This is the other side of the Woodland Zen Garden. The homeowner had this amazing Japanese Tea House built.

No garden could compete with this gorgeous structure. We consulted so many times on ideas of what to do here. The moss hill was already here. We decided on

the basics. Bringing in many palettes of rock to edge new gravel paths and build retaining walls. The large bird was ordered by the homeowner, and a surprise to me!It was delivered to this spot. We picked out a different area, then it was much too heavy for moving there, hence “it looks good right there”! I want to add some organic sections of grass plants into the large, open gravel area. We will experiment on that this spring. When all heavier work was complete we closed up the entrance to this side from the street, to create a more private garden area. We built a curved retaining wall and blended it into an existing lower rock wall. Mature Rhododendrons and Andromeda were also brought in for some screening from the street.
